Do Southwest employees family fly free?
Employees have free, unlimited travel privileges for themselves and eligible dependents on Southwest Airlines. Eligible dependents include spouse or committed/registered partner, eligible dependent children under 19 years old (or up to age 24 if a full-time student), and parents.
Spouse, children up to age 24 (in college), and parents are considered immediate family. They can fly Standby/Space available. Siblings are not included.

How to get Southwest Companion Pass for 2 years?
To qualify for the Companion Pass, you need to earn 135,000 Companion Pass qualifying points or fly 100 one-way flights per calendar year on Southwest Airlines, which must be earned and posted to your Rapid Rewards account.
With the Southwest credit card, all points earned, including those from the welcome offer, count as qualifying points. And to earn the Southwest Companion Pass, you need to earn 135,000 qualifying points in a calendar year.
Once you earn it and pick your Companion, you can begin enjoying the benefits immediately after designating a Companion. You'll maintain your Companion Pass for the remainder of the calendar year in which you qualified and the entire calendar year immediately following the year you qualified.

First, you don't have two companion passes so don't think you can book two companions. You have one CP and can have one companion. You cannot earn CP multiple times concurrently. If your son also has a companion pass then he can also designate one companion.
You can only have one Companion at a time. You have to take the first and then you can change the name on the Companion pass. To reserve a seat on your 2nd trip you should book it in your friends name.
While Buddy Passes offer discounted or free airfare, it's important to note that you may still be responsible for paying certain fees and taxes. These fees can vary depending on the destination and the specific pass you are using.
Employees and Interns can receive an unlimited 20% discount on all purchased Southwest flights for themselves and their Eligible Travelers, including spouse and/or committed/registered partner, Travel Companion, eligible dependent children (or up to age 24 if a full-time student), and parents.
If you don't have a credit card and plan to earn the Companion Pass through flying in 2023, you'll need to earn the full 135,000 points or take 100 qualifying one-way flights. This translates to the following spending on base fares: $22,500 on Wanna Get Away.
